Water supply and sewerage facilities have been constructed continuously as essential social infrastructure. Recently there are various social backgrounds, such as needs of renovation of timeworn facilities, changes of demand for water and finance condition caused by low birthrate and aging population, and a heightened awareness of risk management caused by large-scale earthquake. Given such social backgrounds, ICT (Information and Communication Technology)-systems to support facility management, maintenance, etc. have been integrated toward the realization of the reasonable plan of renovation, and the advanced operation and maintenance. Recently ICT has been making remarkable progress, such as advanced mobile terminals, wireless sensor networks, IC tag, AR (Augmented Reality), cloud computing, and big-data analysis. This committee conducted a question-based survey to clarify needs and issues to be solved on application of ICT at water supply and sewerage facilities. From the survey results, there exists strong expectation to improve efficiency of gathering digitized data about the operation and maintenance. And it is also expected to build integrated common database shared by various work or management processes, in addition, to develop data-gathering system and application system for each processes. Based on these considerations, this report proposed future ICT-systems, including the up-to-date technologies such as wearable computing and human robot interaction, to support water supply and sewerage facilities. |
