After quarter of a century of research and development, the maglev trains, which is a representative example of applied magnetically suspension technology, have reached to the practical use. Shanghai Transrapid maintains stable commercial operation. HSST,which was thrown into practical use for Aichi exposition, continues carrying many people every day. Linear Chuo Shinkansen project, namely, SCMAGLEV is highly rated by the assessment committee. A commercial line construction between Tokyo-Nagoya was decided, and itwill open formally for business in 2027. Practical use and application example of the magnetic suspension technology in the field of an industrial application have increased.The number of clinical trials for a ventricularassist device with magnetic bearingsystem has increase. Bearing-less motors applied to various pumps like pure water pumps in semi-conductor manufacturing plants grow in use. Non-contact guide elevators with electromagneticsuspension system have been developed. The technologyis also applied to automobile and railway system in order to ride quality improvement.Novel control methods for a reliability improvement wereproposed for example Generalized Internal Model Controland novel phenomenon was verified for example a magnetic resonance coupling in magnetic levitation system.Among flywheel energy storage system with SCM bearing, the biggest rating capacity is currently 10 kWh. In the case of SCM weightsuspension type, the biggest is 50 kWh. Moreover, a semiconductor exposure apparatus with an EMS vibration isolator has been almost completed. Social values are transformingfrom seeking glight and compact products and lower costhto seeking glower environment impact and energy savinghwhile many magnetic suspension systems are in practical uses and the application fields are expanded as mentioned above. We investigated current researches and developments on magnetictechnicalviewpoint. As a result, wefvesucceeded in dividing environmental and energy saving aspects of magnetic suspension technology and application in to five categories as follows. (1) Technologies for simplificationandminimization, (2) Technologies for high qualityand high precision, (3) Technologies for stabilizationand safety, (4) Technologies for energy operation, (5) Technologies for energy saving In the above, (1) to (3) belong to the lower environment impact of the social values and (4) and (5) to the energy saving and efficiency operation of energy. This report will introduce the concrete example in every category. |
