The "Investigating R&D Committee on the Latest Power Semiconductor Switching Circuit Technology Corresponding to Global Environmental Issues" investigated the trends of researches and practical uses of high-frequency switching semiconductor power conversion system relating to Energy Saving, Energy Storing and New Energy Developing during November 2008 to October 2010, and the final report has been produced and published. The performance of power converters such as size, weight, cost, efficiency and characteristics have been improving and the application areas has been expanding. Through these improvements and expanding, "the latest power semiconductor switching circuit technology corresponding to global environmental issues" has been contributing for saving energy, saving resources and being free from fossil-fuel all toward low-carbon society. These technical activities have been found through a number of reports regarding results of researches or practically applied projects from research institutes or industrial companies, respectively, every year. New applications such as mobile applications and new energy applications including relation with the Smart-Grid system have been especially focused on recently and it is expected that the researches in this area will be continuously very active and thus, further investigation for R&D in this area is necessary. |
