As advances in computer technology make increasing storage capacity and computation speed, computers are able to deal with large scale and complex real-world problems in science and engineering. These advances can give computers the ability to emulate human capabilities and to communicate humans. To this end, it is necessary to fuse sensor signals at not only signal level but also cognitive level. This technical report presents such cognitive agent technologies from a variety of viewpoints: robotics, ecological psychology, bioengineering, learning theory, and computer vision. |
