Recently, in accordance with the advancement of electronics technologies, the digital type low-voltage and control circuits using microprocessors are applied to the power stations and substations. On the other hand, some technical progresses, for example the prevalence of GIS apparatus and the arrangement of electronic control circuits set close by main apparatus, have caused dramatic changes in the types of surge waveforms which appear in the low-voltage and control circuits, as well as in the value of overvoltage which should be taken into account. Moreover, in terms of the prevention of wrong operations, the EMI has become an indispensable factor for the design of low-voltage and control circuits. Accordingly, in order to elucidate the surge phenomena in the low-voltage and control circuits and establish the rational insulation design of the low-voltage and control circuits, this report focused on the following three subjects: (1) An investigation of the surge phenomena appeared in the low-voltage and control circuits, (2) An investigation of surge analysis models applied to the low-voltage and control circuits, (3) An investigation of simulation of surge phenomena in the low-voltage and control circuits. This report consists of 5 chapters: Chapter 1: Introduction of this technical report. Chapter 2: Investigation of the surge phenomena in the low-voltage and control circuits of power stations and substations, telecommunication and control equipments, intelligent buildings, wind or solar power stations, and houses. Chapter 3: Investigation of the surge analysis on the above systems. Chapter 4: Investigation of surge protection methods in the low-voltage and control circuits. Chapter 5: Conclusion of this technical report. The authors expect that this report will be beneficial for the R&D of the low-voltage and control circuits. |
