Investigating R&D Committee on Electromagnetic Transients of Electric Power System including New Electric Power Equipments | ||
In case of consideration on insulation design of electric power systems in 21st century, we cannot neglect several new technologies, which are high speed control technique with high speed network technologies, compact electric power equipments applied power semi-conductor technologies, increasing of harmonic problems in electric power systems, mixture systems of DC and AC power supplies, etc. The establishment of new insulation design method covering the new technologies is strongly requested. For the realization of the above problems, it is necessary to establish accurate analysis methods of overvoltage phenomena in the electric power systems, and to apply them to the insulation design methods. From the above viewpoints, we investigated the electromagnetic transients calculation methods of electric power systems, modeling methods of various electromagnetic transient phenomena, modeling methods of new power equipments applied power semi-conductor technologies (distributed power supplies, SVC, BTB, NAS batteries, and SMES). This report is the results of the above R&D investigation points, and can be expected to use as basic material for the establishment of the insulation design methods based on a new concept. The main consideration is as follows: 1. Current and future problems of new electric power equipments a. FACTS related system b. Wind generator system c. Photovoltaic power generation system d. Power storage system e. Other new electric power equipment 2. Overvoltage phenomena with new electric power equipments and its measures a. What is the new electric power equipment? b. Internal overvoltages c. External overvoltages d. Overvoltages related to grounding e. Harmonic overvoltage problems 3. Overvoltage analysis methods of electric power system including new electric power equipments a. Digital analysis methods b. Analog analysis methods c. Other analysis methods 4. Problems in the future |
